Can I edit my image?
Sure! We accept images that are edited, as well as creative composites, panoramas etc.
What file size and format can my photo be?
Competition entries must be in JPEG file format and less than 10MB in size.
Can I submit an image I took over a year ago?
For this competition we ask that photos be taken recently, within the last 12 months.
How can I enter the competition?
You can enter the competition by submitting your name and photo to info@urbanvillage.com
How many entries can I submit?
There’s no limit!
Can I submit a photo from somewhere else in Sydney, not an area under the City of Sydney?
No, all entries must be photos taken from within the City of Sydney precincts. These precincts are: Green Square, Alexandria, Everleigh, Redfern, Waterloo, Surry Hills, Chippendale, Darlinghurst, Glebe, Potts Point, Darlington, Newtown, Pyrmont, Ultimp, Wooloomooloo, St Peters, Barangaroo, CBD, Paddington, Kings Cross, Haymarket and Annandale.
Who is the competition open to?
Entries are open to Australian residents only.
What are the prizes?
There are four minor prizes to be given out at the end of each quarterly round, these prizes are the same for both Junior and Senior winners. These prizes include a 1.5 hour one on one session in store with a member of the Camera Pro team, an 11×24′ print on Ilford Paper, free tickets to the Camera Pro in store event of their choosing (valid for 6 months) and a $100 in store voucher.
The two major prizes, which will be given to the overall winners of the competition are: a $1500 in store credit to the camera or lens of your choosing for the Senior prize and an Olympus TG6 for the Junior submission winner.
How will I know my submission was received?
When your photo has been received you will receive a follow up email confirming this.
When will the winner be announced?
The winner will be announced 2 weeks after the competition. The announcement will be made via our social media channels, and from that will be published in the latest edition of Urban Village magazine. If you are the winner, we will contact you directly via email.
